My name is Alexandra (Lexi) Ruffin, and I am a fourth-year student at the University of Georgia. I am studying Health Promotion with an emphasis in Behavioral Medicine and a minor in Biology. I am a pre-dental student who just applied to dental school in the 2025 cycle.
My areas of interest in public health include oral health, food insecurity, sexual health, and women’s health. I also have a strong interest in health policy and law. I plan to help shape oral health policy and draw upon the skills that I built in the UGA College of Public Health during my time in dental school.
Outside of academics, you can find me enjoying one of my many hobbies! I have always loved fitness, but beginning in college, I discovered a passion for practicing yoga and Pilates at M3 Athens. I also enjoy outdoor fitness such as hiking and kayaking, especially when I am home in Virginia. Similar to my love for fitness, I am a major sports fan and frequently attend sporting events. While I will always be a fan of Washington D.C. sports teams, the Georgia Bulldogs football team has certainly won my heart over the past four years! Lastly, you can often find me at a music event, as I am an avid music lover. Whether it’s a small Athens jam band at the Georgia Theatre, a sold-out stadium for a major artist, or simply driving to my current favorite playlist, experiencing music has always filled my cup!
